Christy hired as KIJHL’s Director of Sales & Marketing

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League is excited to announce the hiring of Courtney Christy as its Director of Sales & Marketing.

Christy joins the KIJHL from the BCHL’s Merritt Centennials, where she had been leading the team’s corporate sales efforts since November 2021. She also played a key role in team marketing, community involvement and game day operations.

“We’re thrilled to add Courtney to our team as we look to grow the KIJHL’s sales and marketing presence throughout our league’s substantial geographic footprint,” says Commissioner Jeff Dubois. “We had over 80 applicants for this position, and Courtney stood out as our top choice based on her work ethic, preparation and passion for junior hockey.”

Prior to joining the Centennials, Christy graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Brock University and worked as a Sports Management Assistant with the Welland Jackfish minor league baseball club.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the KIJHL and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing my career in junior hockey,” says Christy. “I look forward to establishing meaningful partnerships throughout the league and contributing to a successful upcoming season!”
