Heat’s Franklin joins ACHA’s Jimmies

 

Chase Heat defenceman Malachi Franklin will play for the University of Jamestown Jimmies in the ACHA next season.

Franklin had eight assists in 44 games for the Heat this season and over three seasons, played in 84 career KIJHL games with the Heat and registered 19 assists. He played in seven KIJHL Teck Championship games. 

Franklin expressed that he is “beyond grateful for the support” he received during his time with the Heat organization and the community.

“I am looking forward to this opportunity,” said Franklin, who will play for the Jimmies in Jamestown, North Dakota. 

Heat Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Fox said that the Jimmies are getting a very good person.

“He’s very committed to doing the work and he’s the example of somebody that came into our league during COVID-19 and utilized the time well to work on the details of his game so he could pursue the college level,” said Fox.
