Tiebreaking Criteria:
  • For the purpose of determining playoff seeding when two or more teams have an equal number of points, the following criteria shall be used until the tie is broken:
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the greater number of regular season wins;
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the greater number of wins in regulation time and overtime but excluding shootouts;
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the greater number of wins in games played between the tied teams;
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the superior differential between goals scored and allowed for the entire regular season;
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the greater number of goals scored for the entire regular season;
    • The higher seeded team shall be the one with the fewer number of minutes in penalties assessed for the entire regular season.
