Kamloops Storm alumnus John Ludvig (2016-17) made his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins today against the Dallas Stars at home.

Ludvig played 5:29, registering a shot and two hits. Unfortunately, Ludvig sustained an injury making his final hit on Stars forward Radek Faksa and left the game at 10:41 of the second period. The Penguins lost the game 4-1.

Ludvig, 23, was claimed off waivers from the Florida Panthers earlier this month. He was a 2019 third-round pick by the Panthers and had 17 points in 54 AHL games last season.

The KIJHL wishes Ludvig a smooth recovery back to health.
