Fernie Ghostriders forward Liam Fitzgerald will play for the Weyburn Red Wings in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League next season.
Fitzgerald, 18, played one season in the KIJHL, starting with the Revelstoke Grizzlies where he put up seven points in 14 games. After joining the Ghostriders in early December, the 5-9, 160-pound forward produced 27 points in 22 games and finished the season with 34 points in 36 games. Fitzgerald helped the Ghostriders advance to the second round of the KIJHL Teck Cup Championships with 10 points in 13 games.
Last season while playing for the St. Albert Raiders U18 AAA program, Fitzgerald played one game for the Drayton Valley Thunder in the AJHL. This past season, Fitzgerald played one game with the Swan Valley Stampeders in the MJHL.
