100 Mile Wrangler Alumni Golf tourney

100 Mile House BC

July 27th, 2019

The 108 Mile Ranch Golf coarse was in excellent condition as the second annual Wrangler Alumni tourney got underway.  About 100 golfers took part in the scrammble format that was set up more for fun rather that prize money and that was definatley accomplished.  25 goups headed around the 18 hole course starting at 10:00am Saturday morning.

It was my first game in about 3 years but the long wide open fairways suited my erractic game.  I picked up the nickname Kawhi for banking a putt in on our first hole off two edges of the cup and in for an exciting start to our game.  100 Mile’s Coach Duner put on a golf clinic for our group with some long drives and Coach Barry Wolff of the Merritt Centennials was the player that kept us on the fairways with his accuracy.

We finshed off the game with an amazing steak dinner in tents set up on a hill overlooking the beautiful rolling green golf course below.  The weather cooperated wonderfully giving us some cloud and sunshine all day and enough breeze to keep the mosquitos away.

Big thanks to the Wrangler volunteers that organized the event I’m already looking forward to next year.  The event is organized to fund student bursaries for the Wrangler players attending college.
