2019-2020 Season Schedule

The Kootenay International exhibition season will start on Wednesday, August 28th with Fernie visiting Golden and end 34 games later on Tuesday, September 10th with Castlegar at BV and Sicamous at Golden.

The league is waiting for two teams to finalize just one inter-Kootenay conference game today so that it can post the complete 490 regular season match ups to the KIJHL site.  Its been a lot of work by the schedule committee and all the team scheduling reps to fit each teams 49 regular season games into the 23 weekends.   Half the teams will get 25 home and 24 away this season and then switch next season to 24 home and 25 away.

The whole process started June 1 with most inter-conference  and conference cross-over games being scheduled.  Then at the AGM at Sun Peaks team reps meet for 3 hours to work on divisional games.  There has been many changes that needed to be worked on after the scheduling meeting and its taken over a month to get to the point were the teams can now move onto the next step of planning road trips, game promotions and ordering team calendars.

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League will start its regular season Friday September 13th.  18 Teams will play opening night.
