Luke Roberts of the Chase Heat is this week’s Young Guns, presented by the Next Shift Network, as he made 38 saves with a .974 save percentage in their 4-1 win against Columbia Valley.
Roberts said he did a good job of playing at the top of his crease and facing shots aggressively.
“I give credit to my defencemen, we worked really hard in practice on picking up sticks and taking away the options,” he said. “That’s given me and my goalie partner (Meyer Gaume) the chance to really take the shot. Against Columbia Valley, a great team with really skilled guys, I was able to get pretty aggressive on the shots and took away their time and space.”
Roberts credits that to his success in his play. Roberts has four wins in 10 games with a 3.66 GAA and a .898 SP.
