The Summerland Steam of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join the club in the role of Head Coach & General Manager.
The Steam are located in Summerland, B.C., a beautiful lakeside community located in the south Okanagan, and have developed an impressive track record of player advancement since joining the KIJHL in 2011.
The Head Coach & General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club’s Hockey Operations department, including: delivery of all on-ice activities including camps, team practices and games; scouting, identifying and recruiting high character individuals to compete as members of the Steam; ensuring that the club is well-represented in the community; developing a comprehensive season plan; building and managing a coaching and training staff; and liaising with community and corporate partners.
The successful candidate must be High Performance 1 certified by Hockey Canada or willing to achieve this certification at the next possible opportunity.
