Beaver Valley Nitehawks alum Jake Lucchini is enjoying a career year in the AHL with the Iowa Wild.

Lucchini has points in four of his last six games, two goals, four assists and 19 points (9-10=19) through 23 games to lead the team. Lucchini is currently on pace to pass his AHL career highs in goals (20) and points (53).

In a Hockey New story published in late November, Wild coach Brett McLean raved about the 28-year-old veteran forward.

“He’s been phenomenal.”

“He’s really been a huge leader for us on the ice.”

“He’s a big presence in our locker room.”

“You have to be consistent in the league,” Lucchini told The Hockey News, “and I feel like the older I’ve gotten, I’ve been able to kind of realize that and try to be as consistent as I can.”

Lucchini played in the KIJHL for part of the 2011-12 season then made the jump to the BCHL with his hometown Trail Smoke Eaters where he was coached by current Sicamous Eagles head coach Nick Deschenes.
