Bohmer, Phillips-Watts lead Kamloops to Game 7 win over Sicamous
Colton Phillips-Watts earned his second career KIJHL Teck Cup playoff shutout for the Kamloops Storm with a 32-save performance in a 1-0 win over the Sicamous Eagles. Nathan Bohmer hammered home the winner on a one-timer fed to him by Ryan Larsen on the power-play at 13:42 of the first period. The Eagles fired 14 shots at the 20-year-old goalie in the second period, then put on late pressure in the third, with another 10 shots. Eagles goalie Gabe Bergeron stopped 31 of 32 shots, including 16 of 17 in the opening period. The Storm will move on to face the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the Doug Birks Division championship. |

Smith scores twice as Sicamous forces Game 7 against Kamloops
Sicamous Eagles captain Alex Smith had a big game with two goals, including the winner, as they defeated the Kamloops Storm 2-1 in Game 6. Smith scored both goals in the opening seven minutes of the game. Ryan Larsen gave the Storm some life with a short-handed goal with a second remaining in the second period. The Eagles gave the Storm little opportunity in the third period outshooting them 13-6 and 41-20 in total. Gabe Bergeron had a strong performance in goal for the Eagles, while Colton Phillips-Watts kept his team in the game making 39 saves. |

Lambert returns to lead Fernie past Creston Valley
It was a memorable return for Fernie Ghostrider Jack Lambert as he scored the series clinching goal against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats in Game 5 of the Teck Cup playoffs. His winner came on the power-play with 23 seconds remaining in regulation time, giving them a 4-3 win. Along with Lambert, the Ghostriders got goals from Cole Fisher, Luke Schaeffer and Andrew Kennedy. Scoring for the Thunder Cats were Bobby Anselmo, Luke Chakrabarti and Nikolai Morrison. Levi Hall made 32 saves for the win, while Dario Cantini stopped 38. |

Luke Hamilton netted the winner late in the second period and Jamieson Franz added an insurance goal with 50 seconds remaining in regulation, beating Matt Fleet, who finished with 33 saves. Luke Rishaug’s 3-0 goal in the first proved to be the winner in a 5-2 final against the Osoyoos Coyotes. Nolan Kelly led the Knights with three points, while Devin Jameson collected two assists. Bronson Seymour scored both Coyotes goals as Josh Hager finished with 46 saves, including 18 in the third period, for the win. Hunter Arntsen stopped 10 of 13 shots, and was relieved by Hayden Lee, who made 30 saves in 40 minutes of action. |

Chad Bates’ first goal of the playoffs was a big one as it gave the Grand Forks Border Bruins a 3-2 overtime victory over the Nelson Leafs. Bates beat Karl Soneff, who made 33 saves, following a faceoff win. The Border Bruins forced overtime when Ben Edwards scored his second of the game with 2:26 remaining in regulation time. The Border Bruins scored all their goals on the power-play, going 3-for-4. Ethan Shebansky made 37 saves for the win. Kieran Christianson and Quinn Ramsay scored for the Leafs.
