The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League dropped the puck on 2021-22 season action last weekend. From that play, the league has selected their first group of Instat 3 Stars of the Week – Judah Makway of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, Ty Marchant of the Kelowna Chiefs and Harmon Laser-Hume of the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.

Against the Leafs, Makway scored the shootout winner to lift the Nitehawks to a 6-5 decision. He had two points, earning the first star. Against the Border Bruins, Makway had two goals and three points in a 6-3 win. His second goal was the insurance marker.
