Leafs and Dynamiter get final Hot in the KI 3 Stars

Nelson Leafs forward Shawn Campbell potted three goals and had five points in two games against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. His efforts in helping the Leafs outscore their division rivals 11-0 gives the Castlegar native the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Hot in the KI first star. Campbell is selected for Hot in the KI in back-to-back weeks.

Campbell finished first in the KIJHL playoff scoring with six goals and 12 points in six games. It is a playoff-high for Campbell, who in 2017-18, had four goals and nine points in 12 games with the Castlegar Rebels. For his career, Campbell finished with 13 goals and 29 points in 37 playoff games.

The second star goes to Campbell’s teammate, Anderson Violette, who didn’t surrender a goal against the Nitehawks, facing 61 shots. The Calgary, Alta., product was 5-0 in the playoffs with a 1.40 goals against average and .959 save percentage. Anderson earned a game star in the opening match against the Nitehawks and in Game 2, turned aside 32 shots.

In Game 2, Palmer netted two goals, both on the man advantage, to help the Dynamiters win 3-0.
