Grizzlies’ Aston joins teammate, signs with ACHA Drury University

Luke Aston of the Revelstoke Grizzlies has signed to play for the Drury University Panthers in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 for the 2024-25 season.

The St. Albert, Alta. product led the Grizzlies with 44 points in 37 games, including a team high 29 assists. He’s currently second on the team with 17 points in 17 Teck Cup playoff games, tied for the lead with 12 assists.

Aston is excited to continue playing hockey after his KIJHL career is over.

“I love playing and knowing that after my junior career, I’ll still be able to play at a high and competitive level,” he says. “It’s a pretty highly ranked school and it’s gonna be a good education, a great opportunity. They’re fresh in the ACHA D1 league so there’s gonna be a lot of room to get in the lineup.”

When Aston is at his best, he’s moving his feet, helping teammates and creating opportunities, while also playing a strong, defensive game.

Aston will join Grizzlies teammate Jozef Kuchaslo, who played a factor in him choosing the Panthers.
