Former Kings draft pick Wudrick announced as new Thunder Cats Head Coach-GM

 

(CRESTON VALLEY) – The Creston Valley Thunder Cats are pleased to announce the hiring of Geordie Wudrick as the club’s new Head Coach and General Manager.
Wudrick, 33, joins the Thunder Cats following a successful 2023-24 season as an assistant coach with the SJHL’s Melville Millionaires.
“The Thunder Cats are thrilled to welcome Geordie Wudrick to the organization,” says team president Shannon Veitch. “Geordie brings a fresh enthusiasm and a passion to create a positive and winning team culture in the Creston Valley. We’re excited about the upcoming 2024/25 season as well as the overall direction that the KIJHL is headed at the Junior A level.”
As a player, Wudrick was a third round NHL draft pick of the LA Kings and enjoyed a lengthy career in the Western Hockey League, USPORTS with the University of New Brunswick and UBC, and professionally in the ECHL, SPHL and in Europe.
“I feel very honoured and it’s a great opportunity for myself,” says Wudrick. “I think Creston is a great town. Their vision for the future excites me and is something I’m wanted to be a part of. I’m really thankful for everyone in Creston’s organization giving me this opportunity to lead their team. I’m really looking forward to be a part of that community.”
