Princeton Posse Revelstoke Grizzlies
Two second-period goals lead Princeton past Revelstoke (Princeton wins series 4-2)

Kassius Kler had a big game for the Posse, netting the winning goal and setting up the equalizer in a 2-1 victory over the Grizzlies. Kler set up Dayton Nelson for his eighth goal to tie the game at one in the second period, then scored his third of the KIJHL playoffs. Peyton Trzaska stopped 48 of 49 shots, giving up a goal to Luke Aston with under four minutes remaining in the opening period. Trzaska made 33 saves in the final two periods to help the Posse win the Okanagan-Shuswap Conference championship for the first time in the franchises 20-year history.  Jozef Kuchaslo finished with 45 saves for the Grizzlies. The Posse will now face the Kimberley Dynamiters in the KIJHL Final for the Teck Cup.

Revelstoke Grizzlies Princeton Posse
Princeton defeats Revelstoke in overtime (Princeton leads series 3-2)

Tyson Horiachka’s sixth goal of the Teck Cup playoffs gave the Posse a 4-3 overtime victory over the Grizzlies. Horiachka was able to tap in a loose puck on the goal line 36 seconds into the period on the power-play. Sean Mitchell scored his fourth goal of the playoffs on the power-play to force overtime. Both goals were assisted by Dayton Nelson. Peyton Trzaska made 27 saves for the Posse, while Jozef Kuchaslo made 41, including 21 in the first period.

Kimberley Dynamiters Beaver Valley Nitehawks
Late goal leads Kimberley past Beaver Valley (Kimberley wins series 4-0)

Cam Reid’s third goal of the Teck Cup Championships with 6:12 remaining in regulation time clinched the series for the Dynamiters in a 4-3 final against the Nitehawks. Trying to avoid elimination, the Nitehawks led 2-0 after the first on goals by Gavin Tritt and Tyson Tokarz. The Dynamiters outshot the Nitehawks 25-14 in the second period and came away with goals by Duncan Paradis, Christian Mealey and Kasey Miller for a 3-2 lead. Nathan Dominici tied the game five minutes into the third period with his ninth of the playoffs. Trystan Self stopped 36 shots for the Dynamiters, while Connor Stojan made 38 for the Nitehawks. The Dynamiters advance to the Teck Cup Final and will play the winner of Princeton and Revelstoke. It’s their fifth trip to the league final since 2014-15.

Bablitz nets winner for Princeton over Revelstoke (Series tied 2-2)

Two second period goals, including an eventual winner by Tyson Horiachka on the power-play, led the Posse to a 2-1 win over the Grizzlies. Sean Mitchell set up Brennan Watterson for his fifth goal 2:44 into the second period. Bablitz scored his seventh at 9:07. Carter Bettenson scored his sixth goal on the power-play with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, as Peyton Trzaska made 36 saves.

Regan’s two-point night helps Kimberley defeat Beaver Valley (Kimberley leads series 3-0)

Kaleb Percival opened the scoring for the Nitehawks, but then Cash Regan set up Kasey Miller and Tristan Weill for their fourth goals of the Teck Cup championships to lead the Dynamiters to a 4-1 victory. The Dynamiters secured their third win of the series, to put them one game away from advancing to the Teck Cup Final, with a pair of third period goals by Isaac Sommer and Ethan Bloomquist. Dynamiters goalie Matt Fleet made his first start in the series and stopped 32 of 33 shots. Connor Stojan finished with 32 saves for the Nitehawks.

Kuchaslo, Revelstoke shuts out Princeton (Revelstoke leads series 2-1)

Jozef Kuchaslo stopped 32 shots for his third shutout of the playoffs to lead the Grizzlies to a 4-0 win over the Posse. Jake Wallace opened the scoring early into the first period on the power-play with his seventh goal. Wallace added an assist, while Kaleb West collected two assists on Wallace’s goal and Kurtis Kinoshita’s goal to give the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead. Kesler Fyfe and Owen Chamberland scored the other Grizzlies goals. Posse goalie Peyton Trzaska stopped 39 of 43 shots.

Beaver Valley Nitehawks Kimberley Dynamiters
Weill has two points in Kimberley win over Beaver Valley (Kimberley leads series 2-0)

Tristan Weill opened the scoring with his fourth goal seven minutes into the first period, then set up Jayden Kostiuk for the eventual winner in the first, as the Dynamiters defeated the Nitehawks 5-1. Christian Mealey scored his sixth of the playoffs to give the Dynamiters a 3-0 lead after the first. Trystan Self stopped 31 of 32 shots, allowing a goal to the Nitehawks’ Spencer Dixon-Reusz for his second. The Dynamiters secured the victory in the third with a pair of goals by Ethan Bloomquis (one) and Tyler Lindal (2). Leskosky led the Dynamiters with two assists.

Trevelyan nets winner for Revelstoke against Princeton (Series tied 1-1)

Trailing 1-0 four minutes into the opening period on a goal by Ty Russell of the Posse, the Grizzlies scored two unanswered goals to win 2-1. After Carter Bettenson tied the game with his fifth goal, less than a minute later, Porter Trevelyan netted the winner with 3:23 remaining in the first. Jozef Kuchaslo stopped 28 shots for the Grizzlies. Peyton Trzaska made 29 saves.

Kimberley’s Cleland has two assists in win over Beaver Valley (Kimberley leads series 1-0)

Tristan Weill scored the winner in the second period with his third goal, while Trystan Self stopped 28 shots in a Dynamiters 4-2 win over the Nitehawks. After Cooper Ross tied the game at one for the Nitehawks on the power-play, his first of two on the night, the Dynamiters scored two quick goals by Campbell McLean and Weill for 3-1 lead. Justin Sommer scored late in the second to secure the win.

Princeton defeats Revelstoke in OT (Princeton leads 1-0)

Sean Mitchell’s third goal of the Teck Cup playoffs gave the Posse a 2-1 overtime victory over the Grizzlies with 6:54 remaining. Mitchell was able to chip a rebound past Grizzlies goalie Jozef Kuchaslo, who finished with 44 saves. Peyton Trzaska earned his seventh win with a 38-save performance. After allowing the first goal to Carter Bettenson in the first period, Trzaska made 30 saves in the final three periods, including 17 in the second. Anmol Garcha set up Brennan Watterson to tie the game five minutes into the third period with his fourth goal.
