KIJHL mourns passing of Nathan Jackman

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League is mourning the loss of Castlegar Rebels forward Nathan Jackman, who passed away tragically in a car accident early Sunday just north of Nelson, B.C.

Jackman, who recently completed his rookie season with the Rebels, was set to celebrate his high school graduation later this month. The 17-year old from Nelson played his minor hockey in Nelson and Castlegar and was known as a genuine and caring young man and popular teammate. He will be missed by the entire West Kootenays hockey community.

The KIJHL sends its deepest condolences to the Jackman family, the staff and players of the Castlegar Rebels, and all those who knew and loved Nathan.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Jackman family during this difficult time.
