Blake Anderson (Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Lucas Sadownyk (Princeton Posse) and Colton Phillips-Watts (Kamloops Storm) have been selected as the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Nov. 27.
Anderson – Top Forward – The Peace River, Alberta product recorded two goals and five assists in two games for the Thunder Cats. In their 5-2 against the Grand Forks Border Bruins, Anderson scored the winner and added two assists. In a 4-3 victory against the 100 Mile House Wranglers, Anderson had a goal and three assists, including help set up Riley Kostering for his first KIJHL goal, which was also a winner. Anderson is second on the Thunder Cats with 29 points in 21 games.
Sadownyk – Top Defenceman – The St. Albert, Alberta product collected four assists in three games for the Posse. In a 5-4 win over the Osoyoos Coyotes, Sadownyk collected two assists, including the lone one on Brennan Watterson’s game winner. Against the North Okanagan Knights, he collected another two assists, including the primary one on Anmol Garcha’s winner. Sadownyk leads the Posse blueline with 10 points in 22 games.
Phillips-Watts – Top Goalie – The Quesnel product won both his games for the Storm last weekend. Against the Summerland Steam, Phillips-Watts made 25-saves in a 6-0 win for his first shutout of the season, his third game since returning from Junior A. Against the Sicamous Eagles, he made 23 saves on 25 shots in a 3-2 win. Overall, the five-foot-eight, 160-pound goalie stopped 48 of 50 shots for a .960 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average. In four games, Phillips-Watts is 4-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .942 SP.
