Jameson Rende of the Kamloops Storm has committed to play for the Okanagan Lakers in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League.
Rende, 20, registered 11 points in 43 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League regular season games last season. In 116 career KIJHL regular season games, he had 30 points and 231 penalty minutes and played in 20 career KIJHL Teck Cup playoff games.
Rende said that Storm General Manager Matt Kolle “runs a top-notch program that is incomparable to anywhere else in the league and even some Junior A programs.”
“I’m excited to move onto the next chapter of my life and continue to play hockey,” said Rende.
Kolle said that Rende wore the “Storm jersey with pride and was a key contributor to the organization’s success.”
“He is the glue guy and brings the whole team together,” said Kolle. “He’s a good person that will make the Okanagan Lakers a better team.”
