Castlegar Rebel Cody Quinton has signed to join teammate Justin Duguay with the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League expansion team, the Logan Lake Miners for the 2022-23 season.
The Wembley, Alberta product began his KIJHL career with Fernie, then Revelstoke before being dealt to the Rebels. In 86 career regular season games, Quinton had 19 goals and 48 points. He had 12 goals and 29 points in 39 games this past season. In seven Teck Cup playoff games with the Rebels, Quinton had six points.
“I’m excited to further my education and hockey career in Logan Lake this upcoming season,” said Quinton. “I’d also like to shout out the Castlegar Rebels organization and my amazing billet family for everything they did for me during my time in the KIJHL.”
Quinton credited his time with the Rebels in helping him develop his maturity level after being in a leadership position as well as building his confidence.
Rebels Head Coach & GM Arnie Caplan said Quinton was their team leader who demonstrated a tremendous level of improvement throughout his three-year KIJHL career.
“If he continues to improve at the same rate with Logan Lake, he’ll be a great player for their program,” he said. “Cody will study business and I am confident that his experience in the KIJHL will pay off well for him.”
