PJHL defeats KIJHL in BCHC Prospects Game

Three third-period goals helped the Pacific Junior Hockey League Prospects team defeat the KIJHL 5-3 in the second British Columbia Hockey Conference Prospects Game in Kamloops.

Ryan Oatman was named the PJHL player of the game as he had a goal and an assist, while Nathan Preston was named the KIJHL player of the game as he stopped 17 of 18 shots in 31:01 of action.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the final period, Peyton Hu scored 1:20 into the period, then Daniel Zhou scored the go-ahead goal, while Brandon Osborne scored into an empty net to secure the win.

Team KIJHL opened the scoring on the man-advantage on a goal by Tysin Mulligan, assisted by Max Chakrabarti and Teghan Mullin. Jake Phillips-Watts and Hayden Evans scored the other KIJHL goals, while Zach Lagrange, on the power-play, scored the other PJHL goal.

Nick Kunyk of the Fernie Ghostriders stopped 19 of 22 shots for the KIJHL in 27:19 of action.

Matthew Candusso (Ridge Meadows Flames) stopped 10 of 12, while Maddox Osaka (Langley Trappers) stopped 12 of 13 shots for the PJHL.
