Wranglers Morrison, Patsey earn junior A spots

Aiden Morrison and Joel Patsey of the 100 Mile House Wranglers are making the jump to junior A level.

The Wranglers made the announcement Sunday. Morrison, a Calgary, Alta., native will play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with the LaRonge Ice Wolves.

“Aiden is a competitive, offensive-minded, puck moving defenceman and we are pleased that he will play a role with the Ice Wolves this upcoming season,” said Wranglers coach Dale Hladun of the 19-year-old.

Morrison spent one season with the Wranglers, putting up seven goals and 31 points in 58 regular season and playoff games.

Patsey, a Hazelton, B.C., native, joins the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Drumheller Dragons.

“Our organization is so pleased for Joel as he was a fan favourite here in our community and was well respected among his teammates and opponents alike,” says Hladun. “Joel has worked very hard to attain this goal and it is truly well deserved.”

In 89 career regular season and playoff games, Patsey, 20, put up 18 goals and 55 points.

Hladun added that the organization looks forward to following the performance of Morrison and Patsey with their new teams.
