Creston Valley Thunder Cats captain Taylor Schmideder has signed to play collegiate hockey for the Logan Lake Miners in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League this fall.
Schmideder, 20, set career highs in goals (8), assists (15) and points (23) this season with the Thunder Cats. He then added four points in six Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Teck Cup playoff games.
The Kimberley native completed his KIJHL career by playing in 145 regular season games and registered 20 goals, 27 assists for 47 points. He played in 25 career playoff games, collecting seven points. The 5-8,173-pound forward began his career with the Fernie Ghostriders in the 2021-22 season.
Schmideder joined the KIJHL from the East Kootenay Avalanche U18AA program.
