Thunder Cat Livingstone gets CCHA recognition

Former Creston Valley Thunder Cat Jake Livingstone was recognized for his play in December by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Livingstone, who played 63 games for his hometown Thunder Cats between 2014-17, was named the CCHA Defenceman of the Month. Livingstone is a sophomore with Minnesota State and recorded three points (2G, 1A) in five games for the Mavericks. He recorded a plus-3 rating, seven shots on goal and two blocked shots. Livingstone also scored the game-winning goal for MInnesota State, including an assist in a 3-1 home victory over Michigan Tech on Dec. 4.

While playing in the KIJHL, Livingstone recorded six goals and 28 points in the regular season. He also collected two assists in eight playoff games in the 2015-16 season. Livingstone is in his second full season with Minnesota State. Last season in 28 games, he had four goals and 14 points. This season the 22-year-old has seven goals and 19 points in 22 games.
