Storm alum earns ECHL honour

Former Storm and Kamloops native Diego Cuglietta was named the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 11-13.

Cuglietta scored a goal and added three assists for four points in two games at Rapid City last week for the Utah Grizzlies.

Cuglietta played for his hometown Storm in 2011-12 hitting the ice in 50 games in which he put up 13 goals and 38 points. He followed that up by scoring five goals to go with nine points in 12 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoff games. Cuglietta made the jump to the B.C. Hockey League where he spent three seasons with the Merritt Centennials before joining Lake Superior State University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He played four seasons there then in 2018-19, he made his pro debut with the Texas Stars in the AHL, scoring a goal in three games.
