Steam’s Weill set to fly with MJHL Flyers

Playing for the Summerland Steam was great for Tristan Weill to grow as a player on- and off-the ice.

In parts of two seasons with the Steam, the West Kelowna product put up 54 points in 45 games. During the 2021-22 season, Weill led the Steam with 53 points in 42 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League games, which also placed him fourth overall in the league. In 11 Teck Cup playoff games, Weill added 14 points.

Weill is now moving onto the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the 2022-23 season. He thanked his “coaches and teammates for helping me over the course of the season.”

“Tristan was a dynamic player for us last year that was a threat to score everytime he stepped on the ice,” said Steam Head Coach and GM Mark MacMillan. “He grew as a person and player over the course of the year, and stepped up his game in the playoffs, as many great players do. We are very excited for Weill to move on to the next level and continue his hockey career in Winkler.”
