Sicamous forfeits win over Wranglers

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League announced today that the Sicamous Eagles have forfeited their January 20 game against the 100 Mile House Wranglers after it was determined that the Eagles dressed an ineligible player. The error on the part of the Eagles was administrative in nature and deemed by the KIJHL not to have been made with the intention of gaining a competitive advantage.

The game, which had originally finished as a 6-2 Sicamous victory, will now be listed as a 2-0 win for the Wranglers. The KIJHL standings have been updated to reflect this change. In addition to the forfeiture of points from the game in question, Sicamous Eagles head coach Nick Deschenes has been suspended for one game.
