Recap from KIJHL Round 2 action

The Kimberley Dynamiters forced the Columbia Valley Rockies to play overtime action in their opening game of the series.

The third seeded Rockies were a second away from taking the first game when Brock Palmer and Cam Russell set up Keegan McDowell to make it 3-3. Ryan Piva then netted the winner at 7:17 for a 4-3 Dynamiters victory. Also scoring for the Dynamiters were Lucas Chilton and Erik Delaire. Adam Anderson made 29 saves for the Dynamiters. Scoring for the Rockies was Erik Lloyd, 40 seconds into the game. He had two on the night as well as Gareth Nicholas.

 

Anderson Violette made 29 saves in a 6-0 shutout win for the Nelson Leafs over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. Shawn Campell opened the scoring shorthanded at 17:07 of the first period.  Reid Wilson and Brandon Costa gave the Leafs a 3-0 lead after one. The Leafs added another three goals in the second period from Wilson, David Sanchez and Campbell, who finished with three points.

The Revelstoke Grizzlies blanked the 100 Mile House Wranglers 3-0 at the Revelstoke Forum. Grizzlies goalie Andrew Palm faced 18 shots, while Raymond Speerbrecker opened the scoring with 5:04 remaining in the first period on the power play. Jake Petrie scored the other two goals, one was on the power play.

 

The Princeton Posse took the opening game of their series with the Kelowna Chiefs, 2-1. With 1:36 remaining in the first period, Noah Brusse scored on the power play. It was the Posse’s lone power play opportunity. After a scoreless second period, Trent Crisp gave the Posse a 2-0 lead with 8:13 remaining. Kayson Gallant scored for the Chiefs with 3:38 left in regulation time. Jaysen MacLean made 37 saves for the win.
