Creston Valley Thunder Cats alumnus Jake Livingstone has been named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Defenceman of the Year, as voted by league coaches. The league made the announcement today.

Livingstone has racked up nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points and has played in all 39 games for the Mavericks this year. His 29 points, which are the most by any defenceman in the CCHA, stands tied for 11th in the country in scoring by defencemen.

Named CCHA Defenceman of the Week following a two-game sweep over St. Thomas Nov. 18 and 20, he was named CCHA Defenceman of the Month twice (November and December) over the course of the season. The Creston, B.C., native has put 69 shots on goal, has a +16 rating and 35 blocked shots in 2021-22.

Livingstone picked up All-CCHA First Team honors earlier this week.

Ranked #1 in the nation, Minnesota State (34-5-0) hosts Bemidji State in the CCHA playoff championship game Saturday in its next action.
