Creston Valley Thunder Cats alumnus Jake Livingstone is having a tremendous season as he continues to climb Minnesota State’s scoring list for defencemen.

Livingstone, last year’s CCHA Defenseman of the Year, has 3-10-13 on the season, and is tied for the Maverick’s team point-scoring lead. Those totals rank him 45th in the NCAA. He also leads the Mavericks with 12 blocked shots in 12 games and enters the series with Michigan Tech this weekend on a six-game point-scoring streak (1-7-8).

At the end of October, Livingstone was named the CCHA Defenceman of the Week following his weekend performance against the Bowling Green Falcons as he had two assists with six shots, and a blocked shot. He was then named the Defenceman of the Month for November after scoring two goals and adding five assists for seven points in eight October games. He had one power-play goal, 22 shots on goal and 12 blocked shots.

Livingstone was named the CCHA Defenceman of the Week twice in October and has been named the CCHA Defenceman of the Month three times in his career.

His 58 points on 16 goals and 42 assists in 85 games places him 12th on the school’s career scoring by defensemen list (NCAA DI-era).

The Mavericks are currently ranked No. 10.
