Knights Saharchuk inks with AJHL’s Grizzlys

Jett Saharchuk of the North Okanagan Knights is advancing in his junior hockey career. The Fort St. James, B.C. native has signed with the Olds Grizzlys of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).

Saharchuk returned to the Knights for his second season (2018/19), netting 26 goals and 49 points in 46 GP.

“Jett’s kind of a raw shooter. He has a knack for scoring,” said Knights coach Dean McAmmond. “That is where he flourished a bit. That helped our team last year.”

Saharchuk also dressed in three games with the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers as an affiliate player. That experience, McAmmond said, will help him know what to expect in the AJHL.

“He knows he will need to prepare in order to have a good year,” said McAmmond. “He might not have the opportunities set before him like he did here. I hope he does well. Hopefully he has a great year for himself.”

In 87 career KIJHL games, Saharchuk recorded 33 goals and 62 points.
