The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its seventh week of regular season action for the 2024-25 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlight the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide positioning.
The Kimberley Dynamiters have jumped to No.1 following a pair of wins over the Columbia Valley Rockies, 4-3, and Creston Valley Thunder Cats, 3-0. Josh Hager recorded the shutout in his debut and also scored into an empty net. The Dynamiters are now 13-2-1 on the season.
The Princeton Posse dropped to No.2 following a three-win week: 6-5 OT victory against the Osoyoos Coyotes, 7-0 over the Spokane Braves and 3-2 against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. The Posse are now 14-1-0-1.
The Beaver Valley Nitehawks once again maintain their No. 3 position. They defeated the Golden Rockets 4-1, then were edged 3-2 by the Posse after having a 2-0 lead. The Nitehawks are now 10-3-1 on the season.
The Fernie Ghostriders crack the Power Rankings for the first time. They won both their weekend games: 3-2 versus the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and 4-2 against the Columbia Valley Rockies. The Ghostriders are now 7-2-1-1 on the season.
Staying at No. 5 are the Grand Forks Border Bruins. They played once on the weekend, doubling up the Nelson Leafs 8-4. The Border Bruins are now 10-3-1 on the season.
