KIJHL Power Rankings Week 19 – (Jan. 29)

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 19th week of regular season action for the 2022-23 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide final positions.

Princeton Posse

Last Week: 1

Record: 29-5-3-3

The Posse won all three of their games last week – 7-2 over Osoyoos,  7-1 over Chase and 4-2 over Kamloops. Goalie Nate Glenn won both of his games with a 1.50 GAA and a .952 SP. Peyton Trzaska stopped 40 of 42 shots for a 2.00 GAA and .952 SP. Tanner Funk led with three goals and three assists.

Revelstoke Grizzlies

Last Week: 3

Record: 27-5-3-4

The Grizzlies won both their games last week, defeating Sicamous 2-0 and 100 Mile House 3-2 in overtime. Jozef Kuchaslo earned a 26-save shutout and Daniel Wittenberg led with three points.

Columbia Valley Rockies

Last Week: 2

Record: 29-7-1-2

The Rockies won two of their three games last week. They earned a 9-2 win over Golden, then lost 3-2 in overtime to Beaver Valley and defeated Nelson 8-1. Kayde Kinaschuk led with five goals and three assists.

Kimberley Dynamiters

Last Week: 4

Record: 26-9-2-3

The Dynamiters had one win in three games beginning with a shootout loss to the Creston Valley Thunder Cats 4-3. They earned a 5-3 win over the Fernie Ghostriders then were defeated 4-3 by the Sicamous Eagles. Campbell McLean led with four goals and five points.

Osoyoos Coyotes

Last Week: 5

Record: 24-10-3-1

The Coyotes won one of their three games last week. The Coyotes lost both their road games in Princeton 7-2 and North Okanagan 6-2. The Coyotes earned a 2-1 overtime win against the Chase Heat. Coletyn Boyarski led with three goals and four points.
