KIJHL Power Rankings: Week 19

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League finished its 19th week, concluding the regular season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage and here is how they rank.

Osoyoos Coyotes: (GP: 42 W: 33 L: 3 OTL: 2 SOL: 4) The Coyotes closed out the regular season by winning two of their three final games – 7-2 against North Okanagan, and split back-to-back games games with the Princeton Posse (4-1 win and a 4-3 loss). The Coyotes finished the season with 210 goals to average five goals a game, which leads the league.

Kimberley Dynamiters: (GP: 42 W: 31 L: 9 OTL: 0 SOL: 2) The Dynamiters jumped a spot as they closed out their regular season with wins over Creston Valley, 5-1, and Castlegar, 2-0. The Dynamiters finished with 157 goals to average 3.74 goals a game, which is the fifth highest in the league.

Revelstoke Grizzlies: (GP: 42 W: 31 L: 9 OTL: 1 SOL: 1) The Grizzlies dropped a spot to third after they split their final two regular season games defeating Summerland 5-1, and losing to Sicamous 1-0.  The Grizzlies scored 145 goals on the season to average 3.45 a game, which is ninth in the league.

Nelson Leafs: (GP: 42 W: 31 L: 10 OTL: 0 SOL: 1) The Leafs finish in the fourth spot as they closed out their season with two wins over Beaver Valley, 4-3, and Grand Forks 7-1. The Leafs finished with 171 goals to have the second highest goals per game average of 4.07 behind the Coyotes.

Columbia Valley Rockies: (GP: 42 W: 30 L: 9 OTL: 2 SOL: 1) The Rockies finished in the top five with a pair of wins. They defeated Fernie 3-2 and the Golden Rockets 2-1. The Rockies finished the regular season with 158 goals to average 3.76 a game, which is third best in the league, tied with the Kelowna Chiefs.
