KIJHL Power Rankings: Week 18

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League finished its 18th week. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage and here is how they rank.

Osoyoos Coyotes: (GP: 39 W: 31 L: 2 OTL: 2 SOL: 4) The Coyotes are KIJHL regular seasons champs after winning both their games, 8-2 versus North Okanagan and 4-0 against the Sicamous Eagles. Kenny Gerow made 20 saves for his third shutout and 14th win in 16 games without a loss.

Revelstoke Grizzlies: (GP: 40 W: 30 L: 8 OTL: 1 SOL: 1) The Grizzlies stayed in second spot winning two of their three games to clinch the Doug Birks division. Victories came against Sicamous and 100 Mile House, but lost to Chase. Brady Augot led the Grizzlies with three points in three games, while Jozef Kuchaslo and Brandon Weare each earned a win.

Kimberley Dynamiters: (GP: 40 W: 29 L: 9 OTL: 0 SOL: 2) The Dynamiters climbed two spots to third with wins over Columbia Valley and Creston Valley. Trystan Self, named the Top Goalie for the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week, made 23 saves for his league-leading sixth shutout. Jayden Kostiuk led the Dynamiters with three points in two games.

Nelson Leafs: (GP: 40 W: 29 L: 10 OTL: 0 SOL: 1) The Leafs stayed in fourth following a split with the Castlegar Rebels, who snapped their 12-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory. The Leafs defeated Castlegar at home, 4-1. Joe Davidson and Bennett Anklewich led the Leafs with three points in two games.

Columbia Valley Rockies: (GP: 40 W: 28 L: 9 OTL: 2 SOL: 1) The Rockies dropped two spots after losing their lone game to the Dynamiters 4-1, who they are battling for the Eddie Mountain regular season championship, which they trail by one point.
