KIJHL gives Commissioner Jeff Dubois extension

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce that Commissioner Jeff Dubois has signed a five-year contract extension that will see him remain in his role through the end of the 2027-28 season.

Dubois joined the KIJHL in March 2020, and has developed a number of key partnerships including new league and team websites plus a mobile app through HockeyTech, a new live streaming agreement with HockeyTV, a video and analytics initiative with Instat and an expansion of scouting and recruiting tools with Rinknet. Dubois has also added key personnel to the KIJHL’s League Office staff.

“I’m very thankful to Brett Holt, the KIJHL’s Executive Committee and our Board of Governors for their continued trust and support,” said Dubois. “We’ve made some great strides as a league over the past two and a half years and succeeded in meeting the challenges presented by COVID-19. I’m very excited to continue to work with a tremendous group of team owners and board members as we work to bring the KIJHL to the next level.”

The KIJHL’s Executive Committee and Governors are very happy with the initiatives Dubois has designed and implemented, said KIJHL Chairman Brett Holt.

“Jeff provided significant positive leadership for our league during the COVID-19 interruptions and has the ability to work with all the teams to move our league forward,” added Holt. “He has taken the vision and guidance that our Board of Governors developed and put them into tangible actions and leadership that is ensuring the KIJHL is a league that players, players’ families, volunteers, sponsors, communities and owners are proud to be part of.”

“We like the trajectory the league is on and look forward to the future growth we will see under Jeff’s leadership.”

The 2022/23 KIJHL season begins tonight with 16 teams in action.
