The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League has announced that a pair of upcoming exhibition games involving the Creston Valley Thunder Cats have been cancelled.
The Thunder Cats had been scheduled to face the Columbia Valley Rockies at home on Friday, November 6th and the Fernie Ghostriders on the road on Saturday, November 7th. Saturday’s game will be played, however, with the Columbia Valley Rockies stepping in as the Ghostriders’ opponent.
The Thunder Cats organization and the KIJHL made the decision to cancel these games strictly as a precautionary measure after a team member was instructed to self-isolate due to contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. No member of the team has experienced any symptoms of the virus.
The KIJHL will provide an update once additional information becomes available.
