KIJHL alumni report

 

In our first KIJHL alumni report, we highlight players in the NHL, AHL, NCAA and WHL.

Derek Ryan (Spokane Braves) has a goal in eight games with the Edmonton Oilers. In 353 career NHL regular season games, Ryan has 54 goals and 150 points.

Jake Lucchini (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) leads the Belleville Senators of the AHL in scoring with four goals and six points in seven games. Since debuting in the AHL in 2018-19, Lucchini has 24 goals and 39 points in 111 games. 

Clay Stevenson (100 Mile House Wranglers) allowed two goals on 36 shots for Dartmouth University in a 4-1 loss to the University of Connecticut. It was Stevenson’s NCAA debut. 

Jake Livingstone (Creston Valley Thunder Cats) has two goals and five points in eight games for the Minnesota State Mavericks. Livingstone scored his second goals of the season in a 4-2 win over Northern Michigan on Oct. 29.

Max Newton (Grand Forks Border Bruins) has four goals and nine points in eight games for the Merrimack College Warriors. Last season Newton had seven points in nine games with the Warriors after spending three seasons with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he recorded 43 points in 93 games.

Nathan Plessis (Sicamous Eagles) scored his first goal of the season, a winner, for Brown University in a 2-0 final over Yale. In 2019-20, Plessis had two goals and four points in 22 games.

Tyler Ghirardosi (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) joined College of the Holy Cross from Quinnipiac and has three goals and five points in seven games. Ghirardosi was on a four-game point streak that ended against Quinnipiac on Oct. 26.

Luke Santerno (100 Mile House Wranglers) has three goals in seven games for the Clarkson University Golden Knights. All of Santerno’s goals came against Alaska-Fairbanks on Oct. 22/23. He has one game winning goal. Santerno joined Clarkson after four years with Bentley University, playing in 123 games, recording 105 points.

Blaine Caton (North Okanagan Knights) has an assist in two games for Marian University in NCAA Division III. In 76 career games, Caton has 21 goals and 34 points.

Bear Hughes (Spokane Braves) is second in scoring on the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL with four goals and nine points in eight games. Half of Hughes’ goals are winners and one is short-handed. 

Jackson DeSouza (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has an assist in six games for the Kelowna Rockets. He played in four games for the Rockets last season, collecting an assist.

Zac Funk (North Okanagan Knights) has four points in nine games for the Calgary Hitmen. Funk had four goals and five points in 21 games last season with the Hitmen.
