KIJHL Alumni Report: CHL & Junior A

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League has alumni playing Junior hockey in the WHL and Junior A leagues throughout Canada. In this report, we profile how some of them are performing.

 

Bear Hughes (Spokane Braves) has 11 goals and 31 points in 28 games to lead the Spokane Chiefs. The Washington Capitals draft pick ranks 45th in the league in points and is currently averaging 1.11 points per game.

Jackson DeSouza (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has a goal and five points in 29 games for the Kelowna Rockets. 

Zac Funk (North Okanagan Knights) has 11 goals and 20 points in 31 games for the Calgary Hitmen. Funk had four goals and five points in 21 games last season with the Hitmen. 

Steel Quiring (North Okanagan Knights) was recently traded by the Kelowna Rockets to the Hitmen and has six goals and 15 points in 24 games. 

Aidan Sutter (Kamloops Storm) has one goal and seven points in 28 games for the Everett Silvertips.

Alex Edwards (Kelowna Chiefs) has played five games with the Victoria Royals.

Campbell Arnold (Spokane Braves) has six wins in 13 games split between the Spokane Chiefs and Victoria Royals. In 10 games with the Royals, Arnold has five wins.

 

 

Levi Carter (Osoyoos Coyotes) is second on the Merritt Centennials in points with 13 in 27 games.

Ben Ward (Kamloops Storm) has nine points in 23 games for the Merritt Centennials.

Chase Cooke (Princeton Posse) has four assists in 26 games for the Centennials. 

Josh Olson (Sicamous Eagles, Princeton Posse, Revelstoke Grizzlies) has played in 17 games for the Centennials. 

Branden Toye (Kamloops Storm) has three goals and four points in 18 games for the Powell River Kings.

Owen Barrow (Kamloops Storm) has two goals in 22 games for the Powell River Kings. 

Carter Woodside (Princeton Posse) has played two games for the Coquitlam Express since joining them from the Victoria Grizzlies.

Nathan Bohmer (100 Mile House Wranglers) has played in four games for the Coquitlam Express.

Kevin-Thomas Walters (North Okanagan Knights) has played three games for the Coquitlam Express since joining the club in a trade from the Battlefords North Stars. In 30 games with the North Stars, Walters had 11 goals and 23 points. This season he had 21 points in 27 games.

McCoy Bidewell (Fernie Ghostriders) has four wins in 11 games with the Cowichan Valley Capitals. He has a .915 SP with a 3.36 GAA. 

Quaid Anderson (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) has three assists in 23 games for the Cranbrook Bucks.

Carter Anderson (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has played a game with the Cowichan Valley Capitals since being dealt from the SJHL Melfort Mustangs, where he had 10 goals and 24 points in 35 games.

 

 

Benjamin Keon (100 Mile House Wranglers) has six goals and 31 points in 44 games for the Grande Prairie Storm. Keon is the top scoring defenceman on the Storm and is 61st among AJHL points leaders.

Rider McCallum (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has two goals and 19 points in 43 games for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Jackson Bohan (Kimberley Dynamiters) has two goals and six points in 17 games with the Whitecourt Wolverines. He joined them from the SJHL Melville Millionaires, where he had nine points in 21 games.

Ethan Schaeffer (Revelstoke Grizzlies) is second on the Canmore Eagles in points with 18 goals and 26 points in 44 games. His 18 goals leads the team and is a new career high.

Lane Paddison (Kelowna Chiefs) has three goals and 13 points in 27 games for the Canmore Eagles.

Borys Protesnko (Revelstoke Grizzlies, Sicamous Eagles) has played 34 games for the Canmore Eagles.

 

 

Leith Olafson (Kimberley Dynamiters) has two goals and 11 points in 29 games for the Melfort Mustangs.

Harmon Laser-Hume (Creston Valley Thunder Cats) was named the DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for the Nipawin Hawks as he shutdown the red-hot Melville Millionaires in their lone game this week. Laser-Hume turned aside 27 of 28 Melville shots in a 4-1 win on home ice. It was his first win since November 16th

Weekly Stats: (1gp, 1-0-0-0, 1GA, 27/28 .964 SV%)

In 12 games, Laser-Hume has two wins with a .892 SP and a 3.35 GAA.

Dace Prymak (Columbia Valley Rockies) is eight on the Battlefords North Stars with 20 points in 29 games. In 82 career SJHL games, Prymak has 44 points between the North Stars and Weyburn Red Wings.

Gavin Mattey (Chase Heat) continues to lead the La Ronge Ice Wolves in points with 20 goals and 34 points in 35 games. His 20 goals also lead the team. 

Brandon Della Paolera (Osoyoos Coyotes) is second on the Ice Wolves in points with 33 in 35 games. 

Kole Christensson (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has four goals and 11 points in 35 games as a rookie with the Ice Wolves.

Alex Johnson (Golden Rockets) has five goals and 14 points in 36 games as a rookie with the Nipawin Hawks.

Mason Svarich (Kamloops Storm) has three points in 15 games for the Hawks.

Maguire Ratzlaff (100 Mile House Wranglers) has played a game with the Hawks since being traded from the Melville Millionaires, where he had one assist in 11 games.

Braiden Koran (Kimberley Dynamiters) is fourth on the Humboldt Broncos in points with 42 in 40 games. 

Nikolas Sombrowski (Fernie Ghostriders) has one assist in three games with the Notre Dame Hounds after being traded from the Weyburn Red Wings, where he had 21 points in 28 games. 

Connor Nolan (Fernie Ghostriders) is third on the Hounds with 37 points in 34 games.

Beau Larson (Kimberley Dynamiters) has 12 points in 16 games with the Weyburn Red Wings.

Nick Dobson (Kimberley Dynamiters) has 11 points in 16 games for the Red Wings and is second among blueliners in points. 

Charles Obobaifo (Sicamous Eagles) has 11 points in 29 games with the Kindersley Klippers.

 

Quinn Mulder (100 Mile House Wranglers) is second on the Swan Valley Stampeders in points with 29 in 34 games. 

Cody Barnes (100 Mile House Wranglers) is third on the Stampeders in points with 25 in 29 games.

Lare Pahtayken (Golden Rockets) has five points in 17 games for the Stampeders.

Darius Makse (North Okanagan Knights) has four points in 26 games for the Stampeders.

Ethan Matchim (North Okanagan Knights) has four points in 27 games for the Stampeders.

Kobe Grant (Kelowna Chiefs) has nine wins in 22 games for the Stampeders. He has a .904 SP and a 3.36 GAA.

Dawson Rattai (Castlegar Rebels) has three wins in seven games between the Virden Oil Capitals and Winnipeg Freeze. With the Freeze, Rattai has two wins in five games and an .880 SP with a 4.38 GAA.

Nathan Driver (Kelowna Chiefs) leads the Winnipeg Freeze with 39 points in 32 games, and leads in goals with 22. In 92 career MJHL games, Driver has 58 points.

Brady Stange (Fernie Ghostriders) has five points in 20 games for the Neepawa Titans.

 

Elvis Slack (Grand Forks Border Bruins) is third in points for the Renfrew Wolves with 29 points in 25 games. 

Owen Miley (Spokane Braves) has nine points in 21 games for the Renfrew Wolves.

James Johnston (Summerland Steam) has two points in 21 games for the Hawkesbury Hawks.

 

Riley Klugerman (Sicamous Eagles) is fifth in points for the Hearst Lumberjacks with 29 points in 30 games.

Dylan Ford (Golden Rockets) has 21 points in 29 games for the Hearst Lumberjacks and is second among blueliners in points. Ford is in his second season with the Lumberjacks.

Tyren Grimsdale (Castlegar Rebels) has 16 points in 26 games for the Hearst Lumberjacks. Last season Grimsdale had 10 points in 12 games.

Calum McGill (Princeton Posse, Creston Valley Thunder Cats) was traded from the Kam River Fighting Walleye to the Elliot Lake Red Wings. With the Walleye, he has two points in 12 games.

 

 

Alex Enegren (Spokane Braves) is fifth in the league in points with 33 points in 26 games for the Kam River Fighting Walleye, which leads the team.

Nic Bolin (North Okanagan Knights) is fourth in points for the Red Lake Miners with 23 points in 21 games.

Lucas Piekarczyk (North Okanagan Knights) has 11 goals and 20 points in 21 games for the Red Lake Miners.

Adam Ferreira (Kamloops Storm, Kimberley Dynamiter, and Castlegar Rebel) has 10 points in 20 games for the Red Lake Miners.

Dyson Germann (Golden Rockets) has seven points in 19 games for the Fort Francis Lakers.

Austin Madge (Spokane Braves) has won 14 of his 15 games for the Kam River Fighting Walleye to lead the league, as is his 1.90 GAA and .945 SP.

Kiev Kineshanko (Chase Heat) has nine wins for the Red Lake Miners, which ranks him second in the league. He also has a 2.07 GAA, which is also second in the league and a .945 SP.
