Edmonton Oilers or Florida Panthers, who are you cheering for?

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League has two connections competing for the Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers in alumni Derek Ryan (Spokane Braves 2002-04) and Kris Knoblauch (Kimberley Dynamiters 2012-13).

Ryan has averaged 8:55 a game in the Stanley Cup playoffs and has played in 55 career playoff games with 10 points.

Knoblauch had a brief stint as an assistant coach with the Dynamiters, leaving the organization at the end of November to become the head coach of the Erie Otters in the OHL. Prior to joining the Oilers, Knoblauch was the head coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack, AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers.
