Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week: March 27

 

Brandon Kasdorf of the Revelstoke Grizzlies, Bryce Sookro and Dylan Marshall of the Nelson Leafs have been named the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 27.

 

Kasdorf – Top Forward – The Rosemary, Alberta product put up two goals and an assist in the opening games of the Teck Cup Championship against the Nelson Leafs. Both of Kasdorf’s goals were game-winners. In 13 playoff games, Kasdorf has six goals and five assists for 11 points.

Sookro – Top Defenceman – In four games, the Nelson native had a goal and five assists and played a key role in helping his team defeat the Dynamiters in six games. Sookro assisted on the tying goal to force overtime in Game 5, then set up Liam Noble for his OT, series clinching goal in Game 6. Sookro has collected an assist in each of the first two Teck Cup Championship games. Sookro leads all KIJHL defencemen in playoff points with five goals, 12 assists for 17 points in 16 games.

Marshall – Top Goalie – The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan product was key in helping the Leafs defeat the Kimberley Dynamiters in six games. Marshall turned aside 98 of 108 shots for a .907 SP and a 2.16 GAA and was big for the Leafs in two overtime victories. He also had a strong performance in Game 2 of the Teck Cup Championship turning aside 31 of 33 shots in a 2-1 loss to the Revelstoke Grizzlies.
