Lucas Ouellette of the Chase Heat has signed to play for the La Ronge Ice Wolves in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2022-23 season.
In his lone season in the KIJHL, the Calgary native scored 14 goals and had 33 points in 40 regular season games. In seven KIJHL Teck Cup playoff games, Ouellette had a goal.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity to sign and become a part of the La Ronge Ice Wolves family,” said Ouellette. “I would like to thank my Coach Brad Fox and the rest of the coaching staff in Chase for helping me develop over the year and helping me get to the next level. Thank you to my teammates, my billets and to the Village of Chase for being part of my hockey journey.”
Fox, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Heat, said the 6-0, 185-pound forward has all the dynamics to play Junior A hockey.
“He came a long way in our program from day one last year on and off the ice. Now the challenge for him and any other player in these situations is to continue to raise the bar each and every day,” said Fox. “We wish him nothing but great results in going to a great league and program In La Ronge.”
