Sicamous Eagles goalie Gage Reimer has committed to play for the Waldorf University Warriors in the ACHA next season.
In two seasons with the Eagles, the Medicine Hat product had 25 wins and 25 losses to go with a 2.73 goals against average and .913 save percentage. This season for the Eagles, Reimer had 16 wins in 28 games with a 2.41 GAA and a .917 SP.
Reimer picked the Warriors program for the small community feel similar to Sicamous and he will study Sports Management as he would like to become a coach when his playing career is done.
“During my time in Sicamous, I feel that my teammates, family, coaching staff, billets and the Eagles Nest have helped me grow as a person and move my game to the next level,” said Reimer. “The KIJHL was a great experience, where every player competes to move on. I learned a lot and developed my game as a goalie in the KIJHL and the league gave me the confidence where I feel I am ready for the step up.”
The Eagles are proud of the person and player Reimer has become and his commitment to the Warriors.
“Gage came into the program as a third goalie and grew into a top goalie in the KIJHL,” said Deschenes. “As a leader both on and off-the-ice, we have no doubt he will continue to improve his game and have success as a student-athlete.”
