The Sicamous Eagles are thrilled to announce the hiring of Liam McOnie as the team’s new Head Coach and General Manager.
Liam’s recent successful season with the North Okanagan Knights made him a more than desirable candidate to step behind the Eagles bench. Not only his coaching skills but his philosophy put him on the top of the list of candidates vying for the sought after position. Liam’s experiences in numerous coaching roles and his playing career have taught him the importance of developing relationships with all stakeholders in each organization.
Whether it be players, fellow staff members, arena staff, bus drivers, or hotel staff, the relationships he has been able to develop have helped him gain an understanding of the importance of each team. Liam believes in maintaining a positive image and engaging in the community to ensure the long-term health and culture of the team and organization as a whole.
Liam has his own playing experience to draw from and is an accomplished goaltending coach who has worked with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets and Tri-City Americans.
Liam has a passion for the game and believes in developing player-coach relationships. He identifies his core values as respect, integrity, and trust, making him the ideal coach for our Sicamous Eagles. Welcome aboard Liam!
