Coyotes’ Hannon signs with ACHA’s Ducks

Osoyoos Coyotes captain Nathan Hannon has signed to play for the University of Oregon Ducks in ACHA Division 1.

When he spoke to Head Coach Rylee Orr, Hannon liked what he had to say about the program and their future goals, which includes going into the NCAA.

“That is something I always wanted to do,” said Hannon.

The 6-2, 195-pound forward said that the Ducks liked that he captained the Coyotes and brings leadership to their room. And that he was part of a winning program.

In 29 games this season, Hannon had seven goals and 22 points. He added four points in 13 playoff games. He returned to action in early January with a focus on improving his skating and getting back into game form.

Prior to joining the Coyotes, Hannon played a season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with the Melville Millionaires playing in 41 games.

With the Coyotes, Hannon was steady with getting pucks out of his zone and playing a defensive focused game, while also getting power-play time.

“Going in as a rookie, a younger guy, I’ll have to start focusing on more of a defensive role,” he said. “Hopefully move up the lineup. Eventually become a No.1 or 2 guy for the team.”
