Kelowna Chiefs alumnus Maddix McCagherty (2022-23) is fitting in extremely well with the Prince Albert Raiders since his trade from the Wenatchee Wild.
After producing 15 points in 22 games with the Wild, the Kelowna native has 19 points in 15 games with the Raiders, who acquired him on Dec. 3 for a pair of draft picks. He has 34 points in 37 games.
“We are young and skilled and play the game the right way,” said McCagherty. “It’s been super fun playing on a team like this, and we have a great group of guys. We get a ton of chances every game and we move the puck really well.
“I think I have been playing well, it helps a lot having great players to play with,” he added.
At the time of the trade, Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said he was excited to add McCagherty to their group.
“He can play in all situations throughout the lineup,” said Hunt on the Raiders website. “He will add speed and an element of physicality, but is also proven to have an adept touch around the net.”
