Chakrabarti, Reid and Sweet named Instat KIJHL December 3 Stars

 

Luke Chakrabarti (Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Cam Reid (Kimberley Dynamiters) and Brett Sweet (Columbia Valley Rockies) have been selected the Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Month for December.

Chakrabarti – Top Forward- The Whiterock, B.C. product put up nine goals and 16 points in seven games for the Rockies, helping them win four of their seven games. Chakrabarti had five multi-point games, including recording a hat-trick and four points against the Columbia Valley Rockies in a 7-6 win and a five-point effort in a 6-4 win over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. Against the Nitehawks, Chakrabarti scored the insurance goal. Chakrabarti is the KIJHL points leader with 57 points in 29 games.

Reid – Top Defenceman – The Kimberley product recorded four goals and six assists in seven games, helping the Dynamiters win seven of their eight games. Two of his four goals were game-winners against the Fernie Ghostriders and Golden Rockets in back-to-back games. Reid had five two-point games during the month. He is second among KIJHL defencemen with 32 points in 30 games and leads all defencemen with 13 goals. It’s the second straight month that Reid has been selected as the Top Defenceman.

Sweet – Top Goalie – The Calgary product won four of his five games for the Rockies and had a 26-save shutout performance against the Nelson Leafs. Sweet finished December with a 1.37 GAA and a .949 SP after stopping 112 of 118 shots. On Dec. 3 against the Thunder Cats, Sweet stopped 32 of 33 shots for the win. In 16 games, Sweet has 10 wins with a 2.59 GAA and a .910 SP. His 10 wins ranks sixth in the KIJHL.
