The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League has graduates playing in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League. This report updates fans on how some alumni are performing with their respective teams.

Garrett Hilton (100 Mile House Wranglers) is in his first season with the SFU Clan after joining the program from the Selkirk Saints, where he spent two seasons. The Prince George native leads the BCIHL with seven goals and 11 points in six games. Last week Hilton was named the Player of the Week.

 

 

Brock Palmer (Kimberley Dynamiters) is in his rookie season with the Vancouver Island University Mariners and has five goals and nine points in six games, good for fourth in league scoring. Palmer was named the BCIHL Rookie of the Month for October with three points in two games. He was then named the Player of the Week in mid November thanks to a three-goal, four-point performance.

 

Kyle Bergh (Princeton Posse, Creston Valley Thunder Cats, Castlegar Rebels) is sixth in the league with three goals and eight points in six games. Bergh earned Player of the Week honours with two goals and four points in two games. 

 

Noah Danforth (Kelowna Chiefs, Kimberley Dynamiters) has an assist in six games for the VIU Mariners, picking up his first point on Nov. 20 against SFU.

 

Juanre Naude (Kelowna Chiefs) has two points in four games for the expansion Okanagan Lakers. Naude picked up his first point on Oct. 22 against UVic and scored his first career goal on Oct. 30 against SFU.

 

Isaac Dutka (Kelowna Chiefs) has a goal in four games for the Okanagan Lakers. He scored on Nov. 13 against SFU.

 

Marshall Porteous (North Okanagan Knights, Kelowna Chiefs) has a goal in four games, which he scored on Oct. 30 against SFU.

 

Daniel Paul (North Okanagan Knights, Osoyoos Coyotes) has a win and a loss for the Lakers in two games with a 31-save shutout, which made him the BCIHL’s first Player of the Week recipient. Paul, in his second season in the BCIHL as he started with UVic going 3-8-0 in 16 games. 

 

Jaden Little (Fernie Ghostriders, Creston Valley Thunder Cats) lost the only game he has played for the Lakers.

 

Other KIJHLers with the Lakers who have played are Kyle Bailey (Revelstoke Grizzlies, Grand Forks Border Bruins), Josh Dalquist (Fernie Ghostriders, Creston Valley Thunder Cats), Ty Banser (Summerland Steam), Tyler Olsen (North Okanagan Knights), Seth Kriese (Osoyoos Coyotes), Riley Smoler (Summerland Steam, Grand Forks Border Bruins) and Owen Spannier (Sicamous Eagles, North Okanagan Knights).

 

Finn Withey (Revelstoke Grizzlies) has two goals in four games for UVic and is tied for the team lead in points.    

 

Colton Hutchinson (Golden Rockets) has played three games for UVic.

 

Blake Pilon (Kimberley Dynamiters) has played in four games and has two losses for UVic.
