DEXTER DANCS TO SPORT THE MAIZE & BLUE
Osoyoos, BC: The Osoyoos Coyotes are pleased to announce that Forward Dexter Dancs has committed to the University of Michigan Wolverines for the fall of 2014.
The North Vancouver native had 35 goals and 44 assists, along with 53 penalty minutes in a combined 48 regular season and playoff games with the Coyotes this past season. Named the 2011/2012 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Rookie of the Year, Dancs also appeared in15 games as an affiliate player with the BCHL’s Penticton Vees, becoming part of an RBC National Championship. In 2010/2011, Dancs also won the BC Major Midget title as a member of the Vancouver Northwest Giants, helping his club earn a berth in the Telus Cup National Midget Championship.
Osoyoos Coyotes Head Coach & General Manager Ken Law couldn’t be happier for the gifted 17-year old.
“The minute I saw Dexter step on to the ice, I knew he was something special. His speed, scoring touch and natural hockey ability make him a complete player,” says Law. “Add to that the fact he’s a Straight ‘A’ Student. It speaks volumes of both our league and the Osoyoos Coyotes organization, having such a young and talented individual honoured with an NCAA Division I Scholarship.”
Dexter Dancs is expected to be a regular in the Penticton Vees line-up this coming season.
