Golden Rockets hire new Coach & GM

 

CELEBRATING OUR 20TH YEAR OF OPERATION

 

 

 

Golden Rockets announce Head Coach and General Manager Rockie Zinger has completed and fulfilled his contractual obligation with the team and mutually agree upon with the Executive board and himself to pursue other employment opportunities.

 

The Golden Rockets would like to thank Rockie for bringing exciting and entertaining hockey to Golden and its fans for the past 3 years. We wish Rockie good luck in his future endeavors.  

 

Golden Rockets are pleased to announce the hiring of their new Coach and General Manager Mr. Ty Davidson for the upcoming 2010 -2011 season.

 

 Ty hails from Salmon Arm B.C. and has an extensive hockey background. His qualifications and experience he will bring an exciting brand of hockey for the fans to Golden. His network of contacts in the hockey world will continue to bring talent to this team as well as the local players here in Golden. Ty’s contribution’s to hockey includes present day WHL scouting, Assistant coaching positions in the KIJHL, CIS, BCHL and as well held position as head coach for BCHL Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Ty has attended LA Kings camp as a guest coach in 2004. His on ice instruction includes numerous hockey schools throughout BC as head instructor. Ty played hockey for Nanaimo Clippers and Penticton Panthers in the BCHL and finally played for Brandon University Bobcats in the CIAU where he was invited for a try-out for the Canadian National team. Ty holds a diploma in Sports Administration and Physical Activity. Ty also holds NCCP Advanced 1 certification.
